A Study on the Attributes Affecting Hospital Selection

Abstract

|
This study investigated the attributes affecting hospital selection as well as images for the hospitals ability to provide services according to accepted professional standard and in a manner acceptable to the patients. A convenience sample of 285 patients who visited a university hospital and provincial hospital located in the vicinity of the same city completed Osgood¢¥s semantic differential scale questionnaire.
There were two major findings. Attributes affecting hospital selection are larger, better facillities and medical team towards the university hospital, wherease inexpensive hospital rate, geographical accessability, and rapport for the provincial hospital. Consumers images of hospital are nursers heartfelt attitudes as well as physicians attentive hospitality in the provincial hospital, whereas reputation in the university hospital.
